Inktober – Painted Toenails
She’s just painted her toenails and she likes the way they look.
Autocorrect said, “Painting Tonsils.” I hate letting autocorrect down. Maybe the next one should be that.
I haven’t drawn with real ink in so long, I forgot how tricky it is. I accidentally blooped a big drop on her hair! Fortunately I have many tricks up my sleeve now, and was able to hide it.
I don’t like this drawing very much. I think that’s why I keep blathering about it.
Looking forward to the next indeed

My dad had a pen and ink set with the changeable tips and squat ink bottles and somehow I got it. It’s all still in the box he kept it in. Thank you for bringing that lovely memory to mind!

Aww. I bet you could use it to make some nice hand-calligraphed cards. Did he draw or write? Or something else?

He drew. My mom has his best piece framed. A windmill. I have used the pens myself many times, even had to get more ink (it lasts a long time!). Practiced calligraphy for years but i am at best a pictionary artist 🙂

How did I know you’d be good at calligraphy 😉
❤ I love that detail about your dad. I have an oil painting, a creek in a woodland landscape, by my mom. I also have some of her sketches and things.

Come to think if it, maybe that’s why i like your sketches so much – they remind me of a thing my dad did really well ❤

And no surprise that your mom was an artist too!

OK… so I missed this post & I went from ‘holy crap what month is it’ to ‘painted tonsils’… HAHAHAHA… But I love this… My husband is a painter & he hates everything he does, but everyone else raves about it. I think you’re in the same boat. This is quite a beautiful drawing. ❤
