Tonsil Hockey
I got into painting briefly, about four or five years ago. It was educational. I have many sub-par paintings in my closet to show for it.
This one’s not too bad though, probably because it’s mostly in black and white. Also because it’s a reproduction of a famous photo. I always do a better job when I’m stealing another’s work!
No matter what way you put pen (or marking device of any kind) to paper, I look at it and think She’s far more talented than she realizes and whether she knows it or not, she makes me smile — and stand in admiration — every time.

Totes agree with eponine3 – whatever you touch turns to some sort of precious metal – but I need to understand the significance of the doughnut in the background.

Lille, That’s a tire! It does look delicious, though, doesn’t it?

Hey, quit ruining the interpretation of my work! 😂

Bahaha! The departing doughnut represents the horror of WW2 which will soon force them apart. But, as a doughnut does not last forever, neither will the war. It’s a love story addled with bakery-symboled obstacles, and a happy ending, implied by the sweetness. Breakfast is, after all, just the beginning of the day. So too is this just the beginning of a lifelong love affair. ❤️🍩

Sarah, It’s decided then. You’re a freaking alchemist! I love this! Also, I told Lille that if you want, you can send me one, original swear word piece of art and I’d hang it on my beloved wall of swears…but only if you want. I’ll frame it and take pictures and post on my blog in 2020. 🙂 Mona

You mean the only swear word art I ever made? My god I still need to scan that don’t I. It guilts me occasionally.
I’ll scan it and then mail it to you. SOON
