Almond Carving
Every once in a blue moon I just have to carve an almond.
Here’s an almond I carved. Sorry about picture quality, it was taken on an old phone.

Incredible, truly astounding. I couldn’t do that.

Wow! I’ve never heard of anyone carving almonds. This is great. Does it shrivel up when it gets old?

No, surprisingly! This one hung around a long time until just the idea of it grossed me out and I had to toss it. It never actually decayed. Though I imagine it could attract varmints.

I love miniatures, so not really! It’s actually less commitment than carving a normal sized thing, to me.

Wow, I’m not used the weird things I do getting such a response! Maybe it’s time for me to carve another one…
It’s such a pleasant medium. Less sticky than soap, less dusty than soapstone. And you can eat the shavings, or the whole thing if it turns out to be no good! haha
The hard part is keeping it from splitting down the middle. This one almost did, it had one of those little air bubbles and germs inside so I had to stop before I felt it was finished.
