Still under construction
The decades-long effort of thousands of knowledgeable programmers has culminated in the creation of the incredible powerhouse tool that is CSS3. Dynamic websites, beauties untold, unlimited creative expression is at my fingertips.
And still my website looks like it came straight out of 1991. Pffft!
I’ll get there… eventually. Once I figure out what I’m doing. Check out that sweet color gradient y’all.

Sometimes the things humans make aren’t so bad.
Good luck with your site! I’m playing around with the themes- can’t find one that I totally like. It’s an eternal struggle.

I wish you all the luck in the world! Except for a hearty portion which I am reserving for myself because I also need it.

Thank you! I’m feeling better about this pair of online pants, but it’s still not how I dream it…

Certainly nothing wrong with expanding the metaphorical webpage design wardrobe!

Seriously, I think it’s the best looking blog I see nowadays. And I read dozens of blogs. But everyone has different tastes.

Sarah,
What fresh new hell is this? I loved the old look, but I love this too! Wishing you all the best!

Thank you Mona! It’s certainly been a fresh hell, but at least it’s a hell of my choosing, I think I like it. Needs a good header though, which I hope to draw… I’m not so good with digital art. We’ll see how that goes, keep wishing me the best, I’m gonna need it! 😂 All these sites I’ve tried on and returned… I told someone else it’s like trying to pick out what outfit you’ll be wearing for the next three years.

An outfit for three years? Think lingerie

It’s clear by your statement that you have not worn lingerie for more than a couple hours at a time

Wouldn’t it be great if the mood of one’s site could always reflect one’s current mood? It would be like a mood ring but for bloggers. I remember when I put out my first “look” and everyone in the writer’s group I go to hated it — as if I asked their opinion in the first place. Ha! Anyway, I eventually changed the look when I came up with, fingers crossed, a better idea. I still like my old look, but I like the new one a little more because of the animation, which is there but not in your face. Since I’m not tech-oriented and any changes have to be made by someone who knows what they’re doing (my tech guy), which equals money, I finally settled on something that I like better and that seems fitting for my site and feels right to me. Not that anyone else seemed to notice or comment when I changed it. So, I don’t know if it was money well spent or not; but hey, I like it. Anyway, I know how difficult it is to get just the right look that you want! Again, great job!

Haha, people would be so confused if the site kept changing, but it would be lots of fun, wouldn’t it? That’s actually why I went for the gradient because my moods seem to vacillate between blood-red and happy sunshine, haha. And it turned out fiery and hellish which was appropriate.
I hated my first look too, but it was the best I could do without working too hard.
Yeah, your animation isn’t too bad, I didn’t even notice it, and that’s a good thing because if I did notice it I’d have been really irritated. Functionality is most important! If nobody’s noticing your design then that probably means that it’s doing its job, either that or your content is just so damn engaging that nobody has eyes for anything else! 😀
