Three Haikus
Whirling leaves, snow, birds
Frenzied seasons circle a
Patient bicycle.
y-branch tree
steel cables bit in
screws in bone
We yanked the stump out.
That pretty blue spruce is just
A memory now.

Sweet wood child
Faery of running sap and cattail wisps
Imperceptible
To the coarser senses
Sing to me, elemental imp
Tickle my ears
With your light lays
Weave a spell of woodcraft
Quicken the arbor above
Caress my languishing spirit
In green delight.
Your melody seizes my soul
Unveiling before me
Every sylvan splendor.
I’m not sure why I didn’t take a good photo of this, but it’s something I did in watercolor yesterday with family. We had fun.
