Meanwhile, Annali, a psychopathic Other, trained and lethal, is killing her way to the throne and will joyfully vivisect anyone who crosses her path. Sienna has sworn revenge against her.
If Sienna loses the battle to the Other in her head, she will forever be trapped as a spectator of her own body, watching her Other wreak unspeakable cruelties on her loved ones. But how can she defeat Annali without tapping into its strength?
They find friend and foe, joy and pain. They battle grotesque feral mutants, Other greed, human stupidity, and a sand dragon. They must journey through increasingly brutal landscapes, gambling their lives on the hazy promise of freedom in a fabled land.
