To My Phone
O phone
You aren’t much of a muse.
You correct my spelling
To something I neither expect
Nor want.
You are too helpful
With your auto capitalization
And your flat, buttonless keyboard.
Yet I continue to use you
As my primary writing tool
Because it is so convenient
To lay on my back in bed
And hold you up
When I write.
That is
Until I drop you
On my face.
Haha! This certainly rings a bell 😀

Really takes you out of the moment, doesn’t it? LOL

Haha, that moment when you do something really embarrassing all alone, and have to forfeit your own reputation just so you can share the joke with someone else 😀

I’ve never tried to use my phone for a writing tool other than for texts (for which the phone is ‘too helpful’ for that type of composing as well). Maybe I should try to compose a poem on my phone just as an exercise. You know, teach my old brain new tricks.

It really hinders my flow… but I keep doing it for some reason.
Yes, you should definitely try it! You’ll get pissed off, it’ll be good for you. When you’re done, for the final touch, be sure to drop it on your face.

So I took your advice. I tapped out a poem on my phone, then dropped it on my face. But I have a landline and a five pound phone. It didn’t work. The phone didn’t store the poem and I lost it. And it hurt when I dropped it on my face. Bad advice, Sarah. Very bad advice. I’m astonished you’d give it.

Bahahaha!
I’m sorry I failed you, but I’m pretty sure you’re just not doing it right. You have to try again!
Alternatively, if the phone just won’t work, you could use your computer, and then drop that on your face.

Here I am lying on my back in bed holding a phone right over my face while reading a poem about just that. Coincidence? Hopefully my phone doesn’t fall on my face, I’ve had that happen way too many times.
