Overthinking Underthinking
In my head is a great big empty room
White walls, white light, white floor
Endless nothingness
Except
Something small there is
On the very center of the floor
A line of text.
It reads,
“This space intentionally left blank.”
How and why?

Who really does, unless they were actually present when it took place and they were aware of everything that was happening around them and the influencers behind it. Was intent achieved?

Or maybe not. Maybe I’m trying to hard, or not hard enough. I don’t know. Maybe I need to learn more about everything ever before I open my mouth.

Haha, if you practice you can one day be as imperfect at meditation as I am! Low goals are best goals

Keeping your brain in a white torture position is not “low goal” by any standard

You and I seem to have opposite ideas on how to relax! Nothing is better than just zoning out and trying not to think about thinking… until somebody yells at you to get back to work

Quite possibly the worse instructions for making a homemade rocket I’ve ever read. Absolutely no command of aeronautics, let alone information about the actual design of a hobby rocket. I see no evidence whatsoever that you have attempted to communicate any knowledge of rocketry you might possess. Really, Sarah, this certainly is not you at your very best. And what’s all this nonsense about over-thinking things? What’s that all about?

On the other hand, the thought occurs to me that your instructions would make a damn good poem. Maybe perhaps on some other topic than rocketry, though. Say, over and under thinking things.
I especially like how statement in the last line can be used both to describe over and under thinking. Also, how there is some enticing ambiguity in it.

I’m still giggling. This poem’s meaning has forever changed for me. Now it’s just the worst possible example of technical writing. I hate it when they get all existential and vague with the goddamn manual! Don’t these people test their manuals out, or proofread! Hahahahaha

It’s the Sri Lankans They should never farm out technical writing to Sri Lankans. They never proofread. Never.

Any chance there’s a hole in your pocket as well? Seriously, though, loved this. We need more intentional blanks in our lives! If for no other reason than to know we can. Which goes back to my original question.

I wish I had a hole in my pocket. I could pull it out and slap it on the wall whenever I needed a quick getaway, like in the old cartoons.
